David Edward Miller, MD, PhD, 75, of Youngsville, NC, died on Saturday, January 17, 2015. He was born on December 14, 1939 in Knoxville, Tennessee to Edward Everett Miller and Helen Hollingsworth Miller. He was married to Frances Gregory Miller, she survives.
Also surviving are his two sons, Eric Miller of Madison, NC and Brian Miller of High Point, NC; daughter, Kelsey DeWispelaere of Manassas, VA; grandchildren, Erin, Neal, David, Drew, Ava and Kaiden; and many great-grandchildren, cousins and friends.
Dr. Miller earned his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from North Carolina State University, a Doctor of Philosophy in Electrical Engineering from Duke University, a Doctor of Medicine from Duke University in Obstetrics and Gynecology and a Doctor of Medicine from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in Psychiatry.
Dr. Miller worked as a physician for over 40 years and served as a volunteer for the non-profit organizations Postpartum Education and Support and Postpartum Support International.

In addition to his love of learning, Dr. Miller also enjoyed riding motorcycles, boating and flying Cessna aircraft.
A private memorial service is being held.
