Darlo S. Webb, 81, of Morrisville, N.C., died January 19, 2015 at Rex Hospital in Raleigh, N.C. She was born in Hillsville, Virginia on July 5, 1933 to the late Marvin R. and Myrta Alderman Surratt. Darlo graduated from Hillsville High School in 1951 and worked as a secretary at the Radford Army Ammunition Plant until 1960, when she left to become a full-time homemaker. She supported her husband, the late Ronald E. Webb, while he attended Virginia Tech and moved during his engineering career from Radford to Salt Lake City, Utah; Cumberland, Maryland; Dublin, Virginia; and Chester, Virginia, where she lived for 39 years. She moved to Morrisville in 2014. She was a library volunteer in Salt Lake City, a sunday school teacher at the Dublin Presbyterian Church, and a poll worker on election days in Chesterfield County, Virginia.
Darlo was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, Ron, who died in 2007. She is survived by three children, Gary Webb and his wife Beth of Fredericksburg, Virginia; Janice Schmidt and her husband Scott of Raleigh and Michael Webb and his wife Jennifer of Chester; five grandchildren, Hilary Schmidt, Andrew Schmidt, Grace Webb, Katherine Webb and Crockett Webb; her sister, Alta Weddle and her husband Joe of Hillsville; three brothers, Arlin Surratt and his wife Jean, Marlin Surratt and his wife Mary all of Hillsville and Glen Surratt and his wife Terri of Woodlawn, Virginia; her sister-in-law, Hilda Dickerson of Fredericksburg, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In keeping with Darlo’s wishes, no memorial service will be held. She will be remembered daily by her children, grandchildren, siblings and friends who love her.
