Geraldine Hinton, age 61 passed away at her home, in Richmond, VA, on Saturday, January 3, 2015 surrounded by her family and close friends.
A native of Wake County, she pursued her early education in the Wake County Public School System, graduating from J. W. Ligon High School, and pursuing further education in Richmond, VA, where she made her home until her death. Geraldine was the daughter of the late Ivon and Lillian Hinton of Raleigh, NC.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Hollis (Bud) Hinton; sisters, Fannie Hinton Polk (Curtis), Modell Hinton Lewis, and Effie Hinton Toney.
She is survived by a daughter, Kimberly Hinton; her brothers, James I. Hinton (Elnora), Clinton V. Hinton (Mary); sisters, Doris Hinton McLamb, Lee Elsie Hinton Polk, Susie Hinton Daughtry (William), Julia Hinton Manning (Danny), Patricia Hinton Mial-Mosley; an aunt, Dorothy J. Hinton; a very special friend, David Brown; a host of grandchildren, nieces, cousins, and friends.

Geraldine will be missed greatly by her unique wit and charm. She was well versed on any topic of discussion, and was skilled in many occupations.
A special memorial service for Geraldine's homegoing was held at 12:00 noon on Friday, January 16, 2015 in Richmond.
