Anne McDonald Oakley died on Jan. 30, 2015 in Quincy, Illinois. Her life will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2015 at St. John's Anglican Parish in Quincy, 701 Hampshire. She was born Feb. 7, 1932 in Raleigh, NC to Ralph and Mabel Peele McDonald. She graduated from Needham B. Broughton High School, and Duke University where she was an Angier B. Duke Scholar.
Anne is survived by her husband of sixty years, Thomas Allison Oakley; son, Ralph McDonald Oakley (Lisa); daughter, Mary Oakley Winters; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Mabel McDonald Geoghegan; and a brother, Ralph McDonald (Meg).
She was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Crawford Oakley, and a brother, Charles Chalmers McDonald.
