Want to know how household income has changed in your area since 1990? How about home ownership rates? Or the percent of people with college degrees?
The US Census Bureau has made answering these questions easier with the release of a new online tool, Census Explorer. Just type in your address or enter a city or county and state. Select from eight different topics.
Note that because some census tract boundaries change over time, direct comparisons from census to census are not possible, at least not with this tool. The most useful part of this tool is comparing current tracts to each other, or comparing county to county.
The data are from the latest American Community Survey (2012) and the 1990 and 2000 decennial census.
