Dr. Marvin Edwin Walker

Marvin Walker, DDS, 92 passed away Tuesday February 10, 2015 at Carolina Meadows. He is predeceased by his parents George Lacy Walker and Clarice Teer Walker; brother George Lacy Walker Jr. and daughter Jan Rebecca Walker. He is survived by his wife Rebecca Hogan Walker and children Jill Walker Denton, Joy Walker Hollar and Marvin Edwin Walker Jr.; grandchildren Rebecca Horney, Jennifer Madani, William Denton, Reeves and Clark Hollar, Maria, Bretta and Juliana Walker; great grandchildren Chandler and Elli Horney, Oliver and soon to arrive Isabelle Madani. He was born in Burlington, NC; attended Elon College and Medical College of VA. He was a Lt.jg. in the US Navy Dental Corps. during WWII; practiced Dentistry for 40 years in Durham; member of The Rotary Club of Durham for 60 years; president of the Durham/Orange County Dental Society; member of the Butler Dental Study Club; founding member and Deacon of Westminster Presbyterian Church. He labored to build a family retreat on the Little River, finished in 1957 and enjoyed 52 years at their home on Humpback Mountain, near Spruce Pine, NC. A celebration of his Life will be held at Westminster Presbyterian Church, Durham, on Saturday, February 14 at 2:00 PM.
