Michael Wayne “Smud” Fowler, 61, passed away suddenly, from an apparent heart attack at his home on Wednesday, February 11, 2015. He was born February 13, 1953 in Wake County to the late Noel Carley Fowler and Aileen Crowder Fowler. He graduated in 1971 from Zebulon High School and retired with 33 years of service with Square D. After his retirement he worked as an electrician, but in recent years had been a handyman at home when he wasn’t out fishing, trips to the beach or traveling with Doris. Wayne was a wonderful husband, dad, granddad, friend to many and will be greatly missed.
A service to celebrate his life 3:00 pm, Sunday, February 15, 2015 at L. Harold Poole Funeral Service Chapel, 944 Old Knight Rd., Knightdale, 27545. Burial Gethsemane Memorial Gardens, 809 W. Gannon Ave., Zebulon, 27597. The family will receive relatives and friends prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:45 pm and other times at the Fowler home, 2740 Wendell Blvd., Wendell, 27545.
Surviving: his wife, Doris Dean Fowler, whom he married on August 10, 1974; daughter, Brooke F. Narron (Charles) of Castalia; son, Ryan Fowler (Della) of Wendell; grandchildren: Hunter Narron, Kyndall and Chloé Fowler, Hannah Finch, Parker Fowler; brother, Douglas Carley Fowler (Andrea Eddins) of Zebulon and a host of special fishing buddies.
The family has suggested that in lieu of flowers, you may make memorial contributions to your favorite charity in memory of Wayne.
