Gary Joseph Richuso died peacefully at home on April 5, 2015 at the age of 71. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen and son, Jesse.
Gary was born in Orange, NJ to Joseph and Edna (McGarry) Richuso. He grew up in Brick Township, NJ and graduated from Brick Township High School in 1961. Over the years he held a wide variety of jobs, such as bartender, newspaper printing press operator, ice cream truck driver, and safari park tiger keeper! He married Kathleen Kelly in 1982 and Jesse was born later that year. He will be remembered as an involved, caring father and supportive husband.
Gary was an accomplished horse racing handicapper, competing in several world handicapping competitions, and loved spending time at Monmouth Park Racetrack on the Jersey Shore. In his younger days he was a great bowler who once bowled a 300 game and enjoyed hustling overconfident competitors.
A memorial celebration for friends and family is scheduled for Saturday, April 18, 2015 from 11am to 1pm at the Morehead Planetarium and Science Center. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Prostrate Cancer Foundation (www.pcf.org).
