Frances H. Gray passed away peacefully in the early morning hours on Saturday, April 18, at The Albemarle in Tarboro, where she had resided for the past year. Born in Rich Square, she was the youngest daughter of the late Ezra Thomas Harrell and Mary Caddie Bryant Harrell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her three older sisters: Josephine Traylor, Louise Shearin, and Edna Brouillard. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Howard A. Gray, who died on March 5, 2002, and by their only son, Howard A. “Hal” Gray, Jr., who passed away in July, 2000. She is survived by three nephews: Shane Early, Leslie Brouillard, and Alvin Shearin.
A service in celebration of her life will be held at Enfield Baptist Church on Monday, April 20, at 2:00 P.M. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held in the church Fellowship Hall from 1:00 to 1:45 P.M.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Enfield Baptist Church, 200 W. Burnette Avenue, Enfield, NC 27823.
