Pluto TV Quietly Adds 2 Free Channels
Paramount-owned Pluto TV is launching two new channels for customers - ones that 1990's kids and the booming card industry will love.
Pluto TV describes itself as "the leading free streaming television service delivering hundreds of live linear channels and thousands of titles on-demand." In partnership with hundreds of international media companies, the streaming power curates lineups of channels for its customers, offering a free, ad-supported model.
Now it's offering two new Pokemon channels for its expanded audience.
Pluto TV Adding Pokemon Channels
CordCutter News broke the news that Pluto TV will be adding two new Pokemon channels for its customers.
"The new Pokémon channel will feature a rotating selection of animated series, movies, and classic episodes from the long-running franchise, while Pokémon Español will offer the same content fully dubbed in Spanish, targeting bilingual audiences and Spanish-speaking fans across the Americas and beyond," it said.
Pokemon emerged in the late 1990's as a pair of role playing games released on Game Boy. The sleeper hit eventually spawned a card game, Manga series and eventually a TV and film franchise.
While its popularity stalled in the early 2000's it remains a cultural icon with releases of new movies and trading cards. Originally titled Pocket Monsters, the iconic franchise had its name abbreviated to Pokemon.
