Greensboros Saf-Gard purchases Texas safety footwear company

Saf-Gard Safety Shoe Co., based in Greensboro, said Thursday it has acquired Work Wear Safety, a provider of safety footwear and workplace safety programs. Terms were not disclosed.

Work Wear was purchased from FourCo Holdings, which acquired the family owned company in 2016.

Saf-Gard debuted in 1980 and is family owned.

Work Wear has locations in Arkansas, Colorado, New Mexico and Texas, expanding Saf-Gard presence in the Midwest and Southwest markets. Work Wear provides safety footwear, mobile shoe store services, retail support and customer service to businesses and employees throughout the region.

"We've long recognized the strength of the markets and industries served by Work Wear Safety, but what stood out most was the reputation they've built through customer relationships and service," Patrick Kubis, Saf-Gard's president, said in a news release.

"We're excited to welcome their team to Saf-Gard and build on the strong foundation they established across the regions they serve, while expanding capabilities and support for their customers."
