Golden Retriever Teaches Us She Is the Hardest Worker Here

They say that getting yourself a pup is a great way to get some exercise and get outdoors. What most people don't count on is that our dogs are sometimes even lazier than we are. As someone who absolutely despises getting up early, I found it hilarious to find out that not only does my fur nephew hate getting up in the morning, but he will actually try to lock himself in his crate to get a few extra minutes of sleep. So much for getting extra steps in.

Although it might seem like they aren't doing anything all day, dogs play a very important role. According to Daisy the golden retriever, her daily work leaves her exhausted. What she does exactly is still up in the air, but either way, she is tired, and she will be taking a nap.

"Being Cute Is a 24/7 Job"

Caught napping and sleeping on many, many occasions, Daisy is one tired pup. Unfortunately, her human decided to out her on social media with the caption, "No matter how tired you are, you'll never be as tired as an unemployed golden retriever." The absolute disrespect.

While it's true that most dogs like to sigh and nap like they work multiple jobs a day, it must be hard being them. At least that's what the comment section thinks.

"Such a rough life. being fluffy all day, trying to find that perfect nap spot. its a tough day but someone has to do it," joked one commenter.

Another user added, "I absolutely LOVE that second image where Daisy is waking up from a nap with her messy bed hair and a look on her face that says she's wondering if she's been asleep for multiple days, lol."

"Being adorable can be hard work for a dog lol," quipped another viewer.

Although it's true that "being cute is a 24/7 job," we can also imagine that those golden retriever zoomies must leave her absolutely exhausted.

How Much Sleep Do Golden Retrievers Need Daily?

Depending on the stage of life of your Golden Retriever, these goofballs could use anywhere from 12 to 14 hours of sleep a day. Puppies tend to sleep longer to support physical and mental development, while seniors can also get up to 20 hours of rest.

While it might seem like a long time for your furry friend to snooze, a dog's REM cycle is much shorter than a human's. This means they don't need one long sleep, but rather many light naps throughout the day. Although we don't know exactly how much Daisy sleeps throughout the day, we can say that her adorableness gives her a pass.
