Oklahoma City Thunder vs. San Antonio Spurs: Are Dylan Harper, De'Aaron Fox, and Jalen Williams Playing Tonight?
The NBA Western Conference Finals heads to San Antonio tonight for Game 3, tied at one game each. The competition has been fierce, but injuries are starting to severely impact both teams in the showdown.
The Oklahoma City Thunder lost Jalen Williams to another hamstring tweak. He has missed time throughout the season with this issue, including the first two rounds of the playoffs.
The San Antonio Spurs are without two star guards in their backcourt, De'Aaron Fox and Dylan Harper. Fox hasn't played yet in the series, and Harper left Game 2 with an adductor strain.
Here are the status updates for these three players for tonight's game (8:30 p.m. ET on ESPN)
Is Jalen Williams Playing Tonight?
Jalen Williams' status is not determined for tonight's game yet. It sounds like he'll be a game-time decision, as ESPN's Shams Charania says that Williams is day-to-day with a hamstring injury.
"He'll undergo treatment and return based on how he feels recovering from the second injury to the same hamstring in under one month."
The Thunder have gotten used to playing without Williams, but he's still one of their best players. It's going to be much tougher for OKC to win both this series and the NBA Finals if they don't have their full roster.
Is De'Aaron Fox Playing Tonight?
De'Aaron Fox has missed both Game 1 and Game 2 of the series, but fans are hoping he'll be back tonight as the series shifts to Texas for the pivotal third game.
There is no further status update on Fox. He is still listed as questionable, meaning it will likely be decided right before the game if he is playing or not.
Is Dylan Harper Playing Tonight?
Dylan Harper has been a revelation for the Spurs in the first two games of this series. He's a strong, skilled guard who has gotten anywhere he wants on the floor before suffering an adductor injury and leaving Game 2. Charania reported on Harper's potential to play in the game Friday night.
"San Antonio's Dylan Harper will be a game-time decision tonight in Game 3 against the Oklahoma City Thunder after MRI showed an adductor injury, not a hamstring, sources tell ESPN. Harper is expected to go through his pregame routine to make a decision on his status."
Fans always want the best players to be in the game. Hopefully, all three can get back in a timely manner before the series is over.
