Dance for a cause

Rex Healthcare staff are participating in the 2012 Pink Glove Dance Competition. This quirky contest raises awareness of breast cancer by asking hospitals to submit a video of their employees wearing pink gloves and showing their best dance moves. More than 260 organizations entered this year’s contest; Rex was the only Triangle hospital to enter.

The top three winners of the contest will earn $10,000 (1st), $5,000 (2nd) or $2,000 (3rd) to go toward their selected breast cancer charity. Rex has chosen long-time partner, the Kay Yow Cancer Fund, as its charity for this year’s contest.

Hundreds of Rex co-workers from the main Raleigh campus and other facilities across Wake County participated in the dance video. Rex’s video was done to Katy Perry’s “Part of Me” and choreographed by an instructor from Rex Wellness Center of Knightdale. The entire production was developed by Rex co-workers.
