DTR Independent Shops, a collective of more than 20 locally owned, independent retail businesses, will host Third Thursday shopping events in downtown Raleigh starting Nov. 15. In November and December, tours are guided.
The Junior League of Raleigh will close its Bargain Box thrift store in Cameron Village by the end of January 2019. The nonprofit cites declining sales and higher operating costs as the reason. Donations are accepted until Dec 15, 2018.
Wisconsin-based Duluth Trading Company, known for its men’s and women’s outerwear, opens a store in the Cary Crossroads shopping center Nov. 15. It is Duluth’s second location in North Carolina (there is a store in Greensboro).
Upscale men’s clothing store Ealdwine will open soon in downtown Raleigh. Owners Matt Gray and Jim Pietryka hope to open the South McDowell Street shop, which will sell Alden shoes and other high-end labels, by the end of 2018.
Kyle and Keat Perkins of Raleigh will open their Big Frog Custom T-Shirts & More franchise in Falls Village on Oct. 24, 2018, offering custom garment design and printing. There is a location in Hope Valley Commons in Durham.
Online eyeglasses giant Warby Parker will open a brick-and-mortar retail store in North Hills shopping center in Raleigh on Sept. 29, 2018. The company’s only other North Carolina location is in Charlotte, NC.

Fab’rik boutique is collecting clothing through Aug. 31 with the Closet Cleanout Challenge. The boutique will donate new and gently used clothing items to women in need through its clothing donation program.
Bailey’s Fine Jewelry’s new summer collection for their in-house Bailey’s Traditions line recently made its debut, and it’s inspired by a trip to a recent gem show. The line is available at Bailey’s locations in Cameron Village and Crabtree Valley Mall.
Craft Habit, new store in the Gateway Plaza in Raleigh, caters to local designers and crafters. They will hold regular classes at the shop, in addition to participating in events held elsewhere, such as their regular Handcrafted Night Out
