Mo's pearl of an appetizer

We dined at Mo's Diner on Saturday, and I had the baked oyster appetizer. It was better than outstanding. Would love to see the recipe printed in the N & O.-- D.L.S., Raleigh

Don't let the blue collar name of this downtown Raleigh restaurant fool you. Mo's Diner (306 E. Hargett St.; 856-9938) offers fine dining in a restored turn of the century house with lace curtains and linen-draped tables. Adding to the charm of the experience is the gracious hospitality of Holly Mohajer, who owns the restaurant with her husband, chef Hamid Mohajer. Chef Hamid obligingly shares his recipe for Baked Oysters, and Holly, who wears a second hat as the restaurant's pastry chef, divulges the sweet secrets of her Apple Crisp.
