Downtown Raleigh restaurateur and bar owner Jon Seelbinder has opened the first phase of Little City Brewing and Provisions Co. in Raleigh’s Glenwood South neighborhood.

The project, a combination taproom, brewery and market, is opening in phases. The taproom opens today, serving only local beers, on the bottom floor of the West Building at the corner of North and Harrington streets. The taproom has nearly 100 seats with picnic tables, booths and bar seating, as well as outdoor seating coming soon.

The brewery will open in a few months; Stephen Monahan who studied at the Siebel Institute of Technology in Chicago will be the head brewmaster. The gourmet market and bodega will open by the end of the year.

The project is the latest offering from Seelbinder’s Local Icon Hospitality, which also owns Architect Bar, Green Light, Virgil's Original Taqueria Taco Bar, Level Up and Linus & Pepper's.
