UPDATED on Feb. 25: This event has been rescheduled to March 16 due to the winter weather headed this way.
The Triangle-based Vittles Films is screening two short documentary films at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Lantern Restaurant in Chapel Hill.
For the price of $20, attendees will see two films, “Un Buen Carnicero,” and “Collards in the Cafeteria,” as well as each enjoy a bottle of Negra Modelo beer and house-made snacks. “Un Buen Carnicero” tells the story of Cliff’s Meat Market in Carrboro, and “Collards in the Cafeteria” shares the story about Gaston County schools’ commitment to sourcing 10 percent of the food served in its cafeterias from local farmers.
Proceeds will benefit Lantern’s Kitchen Patrol, a program designed “to help children discover the skills and inspiration they need for a lifetime of cooking and eating good food,” according to the event website.
