Taste the Event festivities start Thursday

The festivities for Taste the Event, which is hosted by Durham and Chapel Hill magazines, start Thursday night:

Thursday: 5 p.m. VIP reception at Durham’s Bar Lusconi with chef Andrea Reusing. Tickets cost $50 per person. 6:30 p.m. Grand Tasting event at the Durham Armory. Tickets cost $95.

Friday: 6:30 p.m. Foggy Ridge Cider Dinner at Duke Gardens. Ricky Moore of Saltbox Seafood Joint and John Eisensmith of Six Plates will prepare a four-course dinner paired with various Foggy Ridge ciders. Cost: $110.

Saturday: 12:30-2:30 p.m. Burger Smashdown at Durham’s Fullsteam brewery. Buns, Al’s Burger Shack, Only Burger, Mattie B’s and Tyler’s will serve up the burgers and Fullsteam will provide the beer. Cost: $50 for adults, $15 for children. 7 p.m. Artisan Cocktail Dinner at Durham’s Cookery. Tickets cost $110.

Sunday: 6 p.m. A Roots of North Carolina dinner at Durham’s Watts Grocery. The three-course dinner with wine pairings costs $85 per person.
