Tomato Day at Carrboro Farmers’ Market
Save the date: July 11 is the annual Carrboro Farmers’ Market Tomato Day.
It is a day not to be missed by tomato fans. Starting at 8:30 a.m., shoppers can try dozens of varieties of freshly sliced tomatoes in the Market gazebo. The varieties include Sungolds, Cherokee Purples, Brandywines, Big Beefs, Black Krim, Orange Blossom and Tomimaru Mucho.
Chef Brendan Cox of Oakleaf restaurant in Pittsboro will serve samples of his favorite tomato dish. Customers can also pick up tomato recipes and enjoy live music.

More than 22 local businesses have donated more than 35 prizes for a raffle. Customers will get free raffle tickets with their purchases at participating local businesses from July 6-10. Raffle tickets are turned in at Market during Tomato Day, and shoppers get extra tickets for every market purchase.
