The Root Cellar Cafe & Catering in Chapel Hill is hosting a farm-to-table dinner and silent auction on Aug. 28 to benefit TABLE.

The event will include a four-course Southern picnic-themed dinner starting at 6:30 p.m. followed by a silent auction.

The auction includes such items as fine art and framed photography; gift certificates to restaurants, breweries, and retail shops; a basketball signed by the UNC Men’s Basketball team; beautiful pottery from Chatham County potter Mark Hewitt; a private group tour of the wildlife sanctuary, Carolina Tiger Rescue; B&B stays and evenings out on the town; tickets to the Sarah P. Duke Gardens; tickets to see veteran soul singer Bettye LaVette perform at Duke.

TABLE is a nonprofit that provides healthy, emergency food to children in the Chapel Hill and Carrboro area.

Tickets cost $80, which includes dinner, plus wine and beer pairings.
