The Woman’s Club of Raleigh offers cookbook for sale

If you are a sucker for a spiral-bound cookbook, The Woman’s Club of Raleigh is selling one just in time for the holidays.

“Simply Tried & True Recipes” contains dozens of recipes for appetizers, breakfast, entrees, desserts and more. Here’s a sample of the recipes you will find inside: chocolate chip crescent rolls, pig candy, Kahlua brie, raw kale salad, deviled eggs, taco bake, Atlantic Beach pie, peppermint bark and potato soup mix.

Orders must be received by Oct. 14. Books will be sent out or available for pickup on Dec. 9 at the Woman’s Club, 3300 Woman’s Club Dr., Raleigh.

The Woman’s Club, which was started in 1904, is a longstanding Raleigh civic group that has taken up a number of causes over the decades. The members have run voter registration drives, operated an art gallery, planted trees and gardens, provided docents at the governor’s mansion, supports the Raleigh Boychoir, as well as many other projects.
