Food writer and cookbook author Andrea Weigl is teaching a canning class at 1 p.m. Nov. 7 at Pullen Memorial Baptist Church in Raleigh.

This is a hands-on canning class. Students will learn the basics of hot-water bath canning and take home recipes and canned goods that are perfect for holiday gift giving.

The class costs $60 and includes a copy of Andrea Weigl’s book, “Pickles & Preserves.”
