Last September, Clayton Food Tours partnered with the Johnston County Visitors Bureau to offer the Beer, Wine, Shine & Dine Tour as a guided tour of the Beer, Wine, and Shine Trail with lunch.
“It’s a great way to explore the trail while letting someone else do the driving,” the Visitors Bureau said in a news release.
The inaugural tour, last November, was a success, the Visitors Bureau noted, paving the way for the tour to return this year.
“This will be an exciting and relaxing way to enjoy Johnston County’s growing beverage scene,” said Ashby Brame, manager of marketing and public relations for the Visitors Bureau.
The first tour, on March 19, will offer lunch by Simple Twist in downtown Smithfield. A motorcoach will depart at 11 a.m. from Double Barley Brewing, where the tour will end at 5 p.m. The brewery, on U.S. 70 near Wilson’s Mills, has ample parking. Those taking the tour should arrive at least 15 minutes early to check-in.
The cost is $89 per person, and space is limited. Call 919-585-4498 to reserve a spot, or purchase tickets online at claytonfoodtours.com/trail/.
