You can now sign up for the community-supported fishery, Walking Fish, which brings seafood from the coast to Triangle consumers.
People sign up for weekly or bi-weekly shares of seafood from 10 weeks or March 29 to June 2. People pick up their seafood at three Triangle locations: Sarah P. Duke Gardens in Durham from 4-6 p.m. Thursdays, Holy Trinity Lutheran Church at 2723 Clark Avenue, Raleigh from 3-4 p.m. Tuesdays or Duke Raleigh Hospital, 3400 Wake Forest Road, Raleigh from 4:45-5:15 p.m. Tuesdays.
The cost ranges from $115 to $478. For example, $115 will buy two pounds of headed and gutted seafood every other week. (Note: this seafood may require removing bones or skin before cooking.) Meanwhile, $478 will buy four pounds of filleted, ready to cook seafood every week.
