Zinda’s owners plan to open new restaurant in downtown Raleigh space

Raleigh’s Zinda bar will have its last night March 19 and the owners hope to announce within a week what new restaurant they will open in the space.

Tara Zechini, marketing director for Eschelon Experiences, said Wednesday that the company still has a lease on the more than 6,000-square-foot space. Company officials are talking with the landlord about what they hope to open there but Zechini said she won’t be able to announce it for another week or so.

“It will be a restaurant,” Zechini said Wednesday afternoon.

Zinda opened in 2012 as a restaurant and bar but has most recently been a night club and event space. Eschelon Experiences also owns a number of other Raleigh restaurants, including Cameron, Faire and Mura.
