The Hillsborough Farmers Market, which for years was in the Home Depot parking lot near N.C. 86 and Interstate 85, has moved to a new location.
The market, now in its 29th year, has moved to UNC Hospitals’ Hillsborough Campus in the Waterstone Development. The development is across the street from Durham Tech Community College and is convenient to both South Churton Street and N.C. 86. It is also within walking or biking distance to the Waterstone, Beckett’s Ridge, Summit and Cornwallis Hills neighborhoods.
“Hosting the market is a great fit for us,” said Jeff Strickler, associate vice president with UNC Hospital’s Hillsborough Campus, in a news release. “We’re a part of this community and what better way can we support it than to provide a place where people can come together while buying healthy foods. We want the hospital to be seen as a place of wellness rather than just a place of illness and injury.”
The market operates 8 a.m.-noon Saturdays (April-October) and 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturdays (November-March).
