Raleigh’s Capital Club 16 offers Riesling Revival menu this weekend

Downtown Raleigh’s Capital Club 16 is hosting a Riesling Revival where they will offer a special menu with wine pairings.

For those who do not know, riesling is a white grape variety that is the Rhine region of Germany.

The three-course menu costs $40 and will be available Jun 23-25. Wine pairings cost $20 per person and a dessert course with wine costs an additional $12.

Here is a sample of what is being offered: caramelized onion tart with green salad and sherry thyme vinaigrette paired with with a 2014 Muller-Catoir ‘MC’ Rielsing Feinherb from Pflaz, Germany; pork tenderloin with apples, sauerkraut and crispy potato dumplings paired with 2014 Selbach-Oster Riesling Feinherb from Mosel, Germany; and seven-day marinated rabbit pie with mashed turnips, carrots, yucca and parsnips, micro-greens and purple Daikon radish paired with 2015 Leitz ‘Dragonstone’ Riesling from Rheigau, Germany.

Any guests who take advantage of these Riesling pairing menus will have an opportunity to receive special discounts on Riesling through the end of the month at The Raleigh Wine Shop and at The Art of Style boutique.
