In “The Mindspan Diet: Reduce Alzheimer’s Risk, Minimize Memory Loss and Keep Your Brain Young” (Random House, $27), geneticist Preston Estep III explains his plan for curbing memory loss and improving cognitive longevity.
Estep has studied populations that live the longest with low levels of dementia and believes his book will change how we think about diet and aging. He tackles myths about which foods are and are not beneficial to our brains and reveals a simple plan to slow cognitive decline. The book also includes practical advice on foods you should eat, tips for cooking and recipes to get you started.
