In “Stopping the Noise in Your Head: The New Way to Overcome Anxiety and Worry” (HCI Books, $16.95), Reid Wilson addresses how worry can be an important asset when it forces our attention to problem-solving. But, he says, anxious worrying can cause us to focus unnecessarily on threat and to retreat and avoid.
In the book, Wilson proposes an approach to overcoming anxiety by moving away from comfort and security and willingly moving toward uncertainty and discomfort. Readers learn how to confront anxiety head-on and face threats.
