Past Times: 1914 brought a new arrival to the Governor's Mansion

One hundred years ago today, Locke Craig Jr. was born in the Governor’s Mansion. The next day’s headline read “Locke Craig, Jr., Arrives in City.” The “lusty nine pound youngster” was only the second child born in the Governor’s Mansion, the first being Brantley Aycock, son of Gov. Charles B. Aycock. The Craigs already had three grown sons.
