Where is your ideal NC vacation spot? These tools may help you decide.

Choosing a vacation destination can be challenging in North Carolina, given its wide range of urban and rural options from the mountains to the coast.

But the state’s official travel and tourism arm, Visit North Carolina, is trying to make it easier.

Quizzes on the group’s website generate personalized trip suggestions, based on the activities people indicate they are interested in and other factors.

One of the quizzes is for people seeking an ideal vacation, in general. It asks whether children are involved, and inquires about preferences on dining and time of year.

Another is specifically for those looking for a romantic getaway. It asks about things like the preferred setting for the trip, how long it will last and what kinds of romantic activities are of interest.

Flight Centre Canada recently included North Carolina in a blog on its top 10 places worldwide to visit.

In January, a spokeswoman for the group and travel contributor for CTV singled out North Carolina as the top destination on the list during a segment on the Vancouver station.
