Bobby Steve Robinson, age 83, died at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem, on Thursday, June 11, 2013.
Born November 20, 1931, in Marion, North Carolina Bobby served in the US Army 82nd Airborne Division where he reached the level of Staff Sargent. Upon his honorable discharge Bobby attended Western Carolina University where he earned a Business Degree and met his future wife, Anne Ruth Bradley. Upon graduation in 1957 Bobby and Anne married and moved to Winston-Salem where Bobby enjoyed an outstanding career at R.J. Reynolds Tobacco where he retired as the Director of Safety in 1987. Bobby was known as an expert in safety programs which was reflected in him also serving on the North Carolina State Labor Commission. Bobby was also inducted into the Order of the Long Leaf Pine for his outstanding contribution to the State of North Carolina.
Bobby is survived by his beloved wife Anne, his two children Amy Watson and Steve Robinson and their spouses Mack Watson and Elizabeth Robinson; his granddaughter, Kathryn Anne Robinson; siblings Junior Robinson and Kathryn Crouch and her husband William Crouch. He was preceded in death by this parents Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Robinson and sister Virginia Watson.
A memorial service will be held on 1p.m., Saturday, June 13, at the Forsyth Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel, 3771 Yadkinville Road, Winston-Salem, NC.
