Nancy Jean Goethe, 56, of Wake Forest, passed away Tuesday evening June 16, 2015 at Duke Raleigh Hospital. She was born on January 7, 1959 in Flint, Michigan. Nancy was a member of the Wake Forest Presbyterian Church and was passionate in her several years of service to the family members of the YMCA of the Triangle, Inc., Raleigh.
A service to celebrate Nancy’s life will be held at 2 o’clock Saturday June 20, 2015 at Wake Forest Presbyterian Church.
Nancy is survived by her husband of 31 years, Greg Goethe; children, Jayne Pofahl & husband Thomas of Boston, MA and Grant Goethe of Wake Forest; father, Edwin Shipley of Flushing, MI; brother, David Shipley of Flushing, MI and nieces, Eleanor & Heather. She was preceded in death by her mother, Lois McDonald Shipley and a sister, Jane Shipley.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Wake Forest Presbyterian Church, American Cancer Society or to the V Foundation for Cancer Research.
