Rebecca Josephine Sifford Belk

Rebecca Josephine (Sifford) Belk was born August 25, 1928 in her family home near Faith, NC. "Becky" was the daughter of Eli Jacob and Nora Pauline Sifford and little sister to Marcus. Becky became big sister to thirteen ... Janet, Jean, Phyllis, Yvonne("Bun"), Jacqueline ("Jack"), Frank, Sylvia ("Sib"), Jim, Doug, Wanda, Gwenette ("Tick"), Karen, and Pam.

On May 22, 1948 Becky married her "Junior" (George L. Belk, Jr.) and they worked hard together to build a strong, happy, faith filled home and family. They raised their family as members of Mt. Zion United Church of Christ in China Grove, NC. Becky was a much beloved wife, mother of four, grandmother of nine, and great-grandmother of fourteen.

On Friday afternoon, June 19, 2015, Rebecca Josephine Belk (86) passed away in her family home after an extended illness. She was lovingly cared for and surrounded by her family. Becky was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Marcus, Frank and Doug, and sisters Phyllis and Wanda. Becky loved, encouraged, and supported all of her family. She was kind, gentle, and helpful to everyone she knew. Her perfect day was sitting on the banks of High Rock Lake watching the boats on the lake, holding a great-grandchild while watching the others play, sipping a glass of "Beck's" tea, surrounded by all of her kids & grandkids, and with Junior right beside her ... and then moving inside to a big pot of chicken and noodles cooked in the fireplace. She will be deeply and dearly missed by all.
