Peggy Lou Gargis Privette, 87, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 8, 2015. She was born in Wake County on June 22, 1928 to the late Lee Edward Gargis and Ola Belle Pruitt Gargis. She married the love of her life, the late Edsel Howard Privette on September 19, 1959 who preceded her in death on October 16, 2012. She retired with 39 years of service from Equitable Life Assurance Company. Peggy was a lifelong member of St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church in Raleigh.
A service to celebrate her life will be held 2:00 pm, Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at Montlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel, 2911 S. Wilmington Street, Raleigh, 27603 with The Rev. Jay C. James officiating. The family will receive relatives and friends immediately following the service in the Mausoleum Chapel. Entombment will take place following the services.
Surviving: sister, Barbara G. Woodlief of Raleigh; a host of special nieces, nephews and godchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by brothers; Lee E. Gargis, Jr. and Donald G. Gargis.
