Julie, age 47, passed away on August 12, 2015 at Transitions Life Care, Raleigh, NC following complications from Alzheimers.
Julie joins her late father, William E. McGowan, in a new life surrounded by her beloved angels.
Julie was born on September 30,1967 in Lenoir, NC and was immediately loved by all who met her throughout her life. Julie was born with Down’s Syndrome and lived a happy life surrounded by her family, friends and angels.
She is survived by her mother, Alta W. McGowan, sister Vivian M. Johnson and husband, Bud Johnson, of the home, brother William R. “Bill” and wife Susan C. McGowan of Rutherfordton, NC, nephews David W. Johnson of Raleigh, NC, Dr. Mac McGowan of Little River, SC, Nieces Katie McGowan of Washington, DC, Harriett M. Merk and husband Garrett Merk ,Grand Niece McKennzie Merk of Banner Elk, NC., Step nephew Matt Johnson of Kernersville, NC and step niece and best friend, Meg Johnson Whitaker of Clover, SC.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2015 from 2-4 PM at the home of Vivian and Bud Johnson followed by a memorial service.
