Angela M. Lord, 61, of Raleigh, N.C., passed away on August 11, 2015 surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in August 1954 in Barrow in Furness, Lancashire, England, the daughter of the late Mavis and Peter Lord. She was the youngest of three children. She moved to N.C. in 1968. After graduating from Millbrook High School, she received a Bachelor of Environmental Design in Visual-Textiles and a Master of Architecture from N.C.S.U. She worked at several architectural firms in N.C. before returning to N.C.S.U. as the Classroom Program Manager in Design and Construction Services.
She was a cherished wife, mother, and friend. She was known for her exceptional artistic talents, including furniture and fabric design, quilting, print-making, floral design, and was a short-bread crumble extraordinaire!
She is survived by her loving husband, Larry D. Pressley of Raleigh; two adoring children Caroline Nelson of Cary and Reeves Gillis and her husband Derek of Boston, MA; and her two brothers Edward Lord and his wife Lynette of Sussex, England and Kevin Lord and his wife Chiyoko of Raleigh. She is greatly missed by her family, friends, colleagues, and exceptionally-needy cats, Mrs. Figg and Bella.
