Mr. Ronald Ellis Dean, of Benson ended his earthly chapter after a long and courageous battle with cancer on August 19, 2015. He touched the hearts and lives of many people with his amazing attitude of gratitude for every kindness shown him, no matter how large or small.
He was born on June 13, 1939 to the late Arthur McCoy Dean and Ruby Chappell Dean in Raleigh.
He retired from Ford Motor Credit and R.F.D. Consultants. He served in the U.S. Marine Reserves and was a member of the American Legion Post 59.
Visitation will be Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Skinner & Smith Funeral Home. A funeral service honoring him will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2305 W. Cumberland St. Dunn. Burial will follow in Devotional Gardens Cemetery.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Faith Ivey Dean, daughters, Deana Ginn [Gregg], Janice Herring [Ben] all of Benson, sons, Kirk Dean ]Shannon] of Cary, Brent Dean [Jessica] of Rose Hill, stepson, Roy Lee [Maria] of Oklahoma, a sister, Barbara Kapp [Ben] of Raleigh, eleven grandchildren, and many loving nieces and nephews.
