HCL America has leased a four-story office building in Cary just off Regency Parkway.
The 125,000-square foot building is owned by Intercontinental Real Estate Corp. and Spectrum Properties. Spectrum also owns 17 adjacent acres in Regency Park.
Spectrum said HCL’s lease will allow it to move ahead with plans to develop the remaining land, which could house as much as 300,000 square feet of office space.
HCL announced in September that it plans to invest $9 million expanding its Global Delivery Center in Cary into the Regency Park building.
The company expects to create 1,237 jobs in Cary, where it already employs 831 people. HCL could receive up to $19.6 million in state incentives if it meets hiring and investment goals over the next five years.
California-based HCL America is the U.S. subsidiary of HCL Technologies, a consulting firm in India that employs more than 90,000 people worldwide.
