FHI 360 moves into American Tobacco

The public-health nonprofit FHI 360 has moved into its new headquarters in the Diamond View III office building in Durham’s American Tobacco Campus.

Last year, FHI 360 signed a 15-year lease to occupy about 95,000 square feet in the 130,000-square-foot, 5-story building that sits beyond the left field wall of the Durham Bulls Athletic Park.

Capitol Broadcasting, the owner of American Tobacco, has found tenants for about 95 percent of Diamond View III’s space. The building includes about 15,000 square feet of retail, which is now home to Moe’s and Ed Mitchell’s ‘Que.

FHI 360 has more than 4,000 worldwide employees. The nonprofit nearly doubled in size in 2011 when it acquired Washington-based AED, which operates education, health and economic development projects around the world.
