Food service equipment maker to open facility in Mebane; create 100 jobs

A food service equipment manufacturer plans to open a facility in Alamance County and create 100 jobs over the next three years.

Gov. Pat McCrory’s office announced Thursday that Cambro Manufacturing expects to invest more than $30.4 million in a facility in Mebane, about 45 miles northwest of Raleigh.

Cambro is eligible to receive a $250,000 grant from the One North Carolina Fund if it meets investment and job-creation milestones. The grant requires a local match.

The average annual wage for the new jobs is expected to be $44,300 plus benefits. The Alamance County average is $35,789.

Cambro plans to acquire a 28-acre site where it will build a facility with rail access to supply it with raw materials. The company, based in Huntington Beach, Calif., makes trays, table service, display items, storage, shelving, merchandising and insulated transport products.
