Durham’s Two Toasters acquired by Ticketmaster

Durham app developer Two Toasters has been acquired for an undisclosed sum by giant ticket purveyor Ticketmaster.

Two Toasters, which has 33 employees, has thrived since being founded in 2008 by developing apps for brands such as Airbnb, Regal Cinema Entertainment, Google, Lexus and Dick’s Sporting Goods. But Ticketmaster is transforming the business into an in-house app developer that will work solely on Ticketmaster projects.

In an announcement issued Tuesday, Ticketmaster said the acquisition demonstrates its “commitment to expanding its mobile capacity and creating a truly end-to-end platform unlike any other in the live event and entertainment space.”

Ticketmaster also said that “establishing a presence in Raleigh-Durham, one of the nation’s most important hubs of innovation, is an important and strategic undertaking for Ticketmaster as the company expands new technology offerings and continues to attract top talent.”
