Veteran banking executive John Anthony, a past chair of the United Way of the Greater Triangle, has been elected chairman of the United Way of North Carolina.
Anthony, who has worked in banking for 27 years, is retail banking executive for the mid-Atlantic region at First Tennessee Bank. He previously was with Raleigh-based TrustAtlantic Bank, which was acquired by First Tennessee last year.
Anthony’s term as chairman of the United Way of North Carolina is two years. The organization supports 57 United Ways and two United Funds across North Carolina. It also helps residents across the state connect with health and services agencies.
