The Greater Durham Chamber of Commerce has named Geoff Durham to be its new president and CEO.
Durham succeeds Casey Steinbacher, who resigned in August after 8 years as president to pursue independent consulting work.
Before joining DDI, Durham served as economic development director of the city of Fairfax, Va., and urban district manager for downtown Silver Spring, Md.
He is a graduate of Randolph-Macon in Ashland, Va.
“Geoff has extensive experience in public/private partnerships and we are excited about the energy and vision that he will bring to the Chamber,” said Farad Ali, chair of the Durham Chamber’s executive search committee, in a statement.
The chamber hired a national search firm, Jorgenson Consulting, to help it find Steinbacher’s replacement. The firm presented three finalists to the board.
