The cost of a Redbox movie rental soars as much as 33 percent this week but along with the price hikes come a slew of promotions.
Starting Tuesday, Dec. 2, you’ll pay 30 cents more to rent a DVD at a Redbox kiosk. While that may not sound like much, it’s a 25 percent increase from the $1.20 price that customers have been paying since 2011.
Blu-ray and game rentals will cost even more.
The price for Blu-ray disc rentals increases 50 cents to $2 a day on Tuesday. And beginning January 6, the price for video games will increase 50 percent from $1 to $3 a day.
But along with the price hikes, Redbox is offering several promotions for its most price-conscious customers.
