Authorities say six people have died in a house fire in eastern North Carolina.
Sampson County deputies said in a news release that the fire was reported around 1 a.m. Saturday. Authorities found five bodies in the rubble of the home immediately, and a sixth victim was found a few hours later.
Deputies and the Sampson County Fire Marshal's Office are investigating the cause of the blaze.
The names of the victims or their relationships to each other have not been released.

The news release did not indicate if anyone escaped the fire. A dispatcher at the sheriff's office said no one was available to answer additional questions.
Garland is a town of about 600 people around 75 miles south of Raleigh.
