Superintendent Ann Denlinger is recommending that the school board adopt a $338.5 million budget that asks the Durham County commissioners for a $10.7-million increase for expansion items. It does not include any special incentives to draw highly qualified teachers to the lowest-performing schools. Some school board members say that could change when the board discusses the budget proposal Thursday night. Here's how some of the additional money would be used:
