Parents seeking tutors through their local school system should talk to their child's teacher.
WANT TO TUTOR?
Contact the local school volunteer office. You'll be asked to list your skills -- reading, math and Spanish are especially needed -- and times you're available. Tutors who work with students outside the view of teachers might need to pass a criminal background check.
