Man shot in West Raleigh home

Raleigh police are investigating an early morning shooting that seriously injured a man at his West Raleigh home.

Shortly before 1:30 a.m. Kenneth Dontez Roberts, 18, was with friends when he heard a knock at the door of his apartment at 1309 Kent Road, said Jim Sughrue, police spokesman.

Roberts went to the door and asked "Who is it?" Sughrue said. At that instant, a shot was fired and the bullet traveled through the door and struck Roberts in the stomach.
